Welcome to McCallsburg, a small Iowa community in northeast Story County where neighbors know one another and small-town living is still very much a part of everyday life.
Surrounded by the farmland of central Iowa, McCallsburg offers a quiet place to call home while remaining within easy driving distance of Ames, Nevada, Marshalltown, and the Des Moines metro. Residents can enjoy the pace and familiarity of a small community without being far from employment, shopping, dining, recreation, and other services.
McCallsburg is home to more than 300 residents and is part of the Colo-NESCO Community School District. High-speed internet service is available throughout the community, making it possible to stay connected, work from home, learn online, and enjoy modern technology while living in a rural Iowa setting.
Small Town. Room to Grow.
McCallsburg offers opportunities for those looking to make their home in a smaller community. Residential lots are available for sale, and City Hall can provide information about available properties and building requirements.

The community park provides a welcoming outdoor space with mature trees, flowers, playground equipment, a walking bridge, and room for families to gather and enjoy the outdoors.
The park shelter is also available for group gatherings and community events. The shelter includes picnic tables, restroom facilities, a kitchen area, and trash receptacles. Contact City Hall for availability and reservation information.
