McCallsburg residents will soon have a new way to reduce waste and recycle common household items. Pratt Sanitation will begin offering recycling services starting July 1, with the first pickup scheduled for Wednesday, July 9. Residents can recycle clean paper and cardboard, plastic bottles marked #1, #2, or #5, metal cans, and glass jars without lids. All items should be rinsed and clean before going into the bin. Saturday, April 18, 2025, 8 AM—10 AM or until the dumpsters are full. The drop-off area will be by the city shed in McCallsburg. Items not accepted: Construction debris No yard waste No paint cans No propane tanks No Tires No enclosed trailers No car batteries Special note: Someone will be on site to take appliances for $10 cash each (Not through the city). The City dump now has a padlock. If you need to drop anything off, please call City Hall at 515-434-2242 to check out a key. If you’ll be dumping over a weekend, please plan ahead and contact City Hall on Friday to get the key before they close. When you’re finished, you MUST return the key in the drop box located at City Hall.
